PRODUCTS: HS702 & HS703

HS702 and HS703 Single Stripe Laser Sensors are portable, fast, and accurate sensors. These are our most versatile and popular sensors and are perfect for high volume applications.

The HS702 with Blue Laser Technology is the smallest and most rugged of the LaserGauge® DSP sensors. It is perfect for high volume applications, such as gap/flush on automobiles, aircraft, or for inspecting welds where portability is required.

The HS703 is identical to the HS702 in capability, but comes with a larger 3.5” display that provides easier-to-view operator feedback and instruction.

FIELD OF VIEW & LASER OPTIONS

Field of View Options

Both the HS702 and HS703 come in 3 different fields-of-view (or scan width).
FOV Option Field-of-View Resolution Depth-of-Focus Depth Accuracy
-F20 1.2” (30mm) 0.0010” (24µm) ±0.3” (±7.5mm) ± 0.0008” (20µm)
-F30 1.9” (48mm) 0.0015” (38µm) ±0.5” (±12mm) ± 0.0015” (38µm)
-F44 2.5” (63mm) 0.0020” (51µm) ±0.6” (±16mm) ± 0.0020” (51 µm)

Scanning Technology

HS702 and HS703 Sensor models are available with Single Stripe Scanning technology. Learn more about how LaserGauge® scanning works.

Choosing between Red or Blue Laser Technology

Selection of Red vs Blue laser technology comes down to a question of the surface material being measured. Red laser technology is used on solid surfaces, such as painted or unpainted, non-shiny surfaces, and is less expensive. Blue laser technology works accurately on all kinds of surfaces including painted, unpainted, translucent, transparent, some plastic, composite, and shiny.

VIRTUAL GAUGES

Virtual Gauges that come with the HS702 and HS703

"Virtual Gauges" are the mathematical algorithms used to process a scan and extract measurements from it. The following Standard Virtual Gauges are provided as a part of the preloaded configuration for both the HS702 and HS703 and are used mostly for Gap/Flush and Sheet Metal applications in the automotive industry.

  • Step/Angle
  • Fasteners
  • Pits, dents, gouges
  • Scratches
  • Butt Weld

Custom Virtual Gauges can be developed/created according to customer requirements and measurement methodology upon request.

Measurement output includes numerical and graphical displays as well as auditory feedback

Display Output

Numerical and graphical results are displayed and can indicate in- or out-of-spec conditions. Operation feedback is provided to assist the operator in obtaining the best measurements.

Auditory Output

A variable volume speaker will sound different tones to indicate in- or out-of-spec measurements, errors or misreads, and low battery.

Data Output

All processed scans and the extracted measurements are automatically saved to the sensor memory for later retrieval. When the sensor is plugged into a PC it will map the data memory as a drive, much like a USB memory stick so that retrieving files is fast and easy.
